About

Welcome to First Baptist Church Lake Worth

First Baptist Church Lake Worth embraces a welcoming spiritual community guided by faith, fellowship, and service. Under Reverend Dr. Charles McLaughlin’s leadership, we cherish traditions while fostering growth through worship, outreach, and meaningful connection.

First Baptist Church of Lake Worth was established on July 3, 1932 to provide a Baptist church to the Indian Oaks area of the Lake Worth community and originally was founded as Indian Oaks Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral guidance of Reverend Sumter Beasley; and the original church building was built in October 1932 at the corner of Shawnee Trail and Apache Trail, with the pastor Wilbur McDaniels leading the church into the Southern Baptist Convention in late 1933; and in 1938, the church was moved to its present location at 7000 Charbonneau Road, Lake Worth, Texas and in 1954 the congregation changed the name to First Baptist Church of Lake Worth; and for over 90 years the church has provided the community with local ministry to families and persons of all ages, faithfully taught the gospel of Jesus Christ, and supported worldwide missions, local schools, and the City of Lake Worth. The current pastor, Rev. Dr. Charles McLaughlin has led the congregation since 2014 and encourages authenticity in following Jesus Christ.
